I’m not one to keep abreast of current music trends…95% of what I listen to is pre-2000. When I hear a more recent song that I really like, it’s a rare event and I remember it. Such was the case as I was walking the coast one night in Marsalforn, Gozo, and heard a live band playing a song I instantly fell for. I found out later I wasn’t the only one that liked the Christina Perri song ‘A Thousand Years’, which was made famous in a ‘Twilight’ film…one of those movies that reinvents the vampire legend to make all the undead into supermodels. Gozo Island is in Malta, one of my hidden gems of Europe, and boasts the oldest free-standing structures in the world…even older than Stonehenge.

I love finding places that have live music and this particular song is one I also enjoy. Now the twilight movie? not my favorite at all (I actually read the books and they are good if you are into the vampire story line) but the movie, especially the first one, no thank you.

I remember briefly getting hooked on that show ‘True Blood’…stopped watching around Season 4. I’ll wait to see the real thing in Romania one day!
