I took a 30 minute cab ride from Budva to the nearby city of Kotor, to meet my Belgian friend Tim, who just happened to be passing through Montenegro. The city was small, but beautiful, I definitely liked this old town more than the one in Budva. Waiting on Tim, I spent the first couple hours walking the town, taking some nice pictures of churches in the area, among other things. The churches were very old, and very beautiful, among the best churches I’ve seen in Europe.
They had this huge mountain pass directly behind the city, over 1,000 steps to get to the top…I wasn’t in the mood to take this on, however. After catching the vibe of the city, I wished I had planned for at least one or two nights in Kotor, splitting the trip up between Kotor and Budva. I met Tim, his dad, and his friend, Bram, and we had a great time. Drinking margaritas with a mountain view in the background…beautiful.
